During loop recording, Pro Tools can automatically create a new take playlist for every loop pass, which makes comping easier because each pass is saved as its own take. To turn this on, open the Loop Recording options and enable the setting that says to automatically create new playlists when loop recording. Once enabled, each loop pass writes to a fresh playlist on that track, letting you audition and mix between takes. The other features—dynamic transport, quick punch, and solo-safe—don’t affect how takes are created or organized during loop recording, so they don’t enable automatic playlist creation.
